6.
What is a Window's Update, my computer pops this up, do I
just close it?
You will want to click on it and run the update, to install
the Critical Updates. Doing this will keep your computer updated
and will help you avoid problems in the future. Just like
a car, a computer needs regular maintenance to keep it running
at its top performance.
7.
How do I know what number my computer is dialing?
When you click on connect, the Number your computer is dialing
will show on your screen. It is a very good habit to pay attention
to this number. You want it to always dial your local Bluebonnet
server number for your connection. If it is not a local Bluebonnet
server number, cancel the call. There are viruses that will
change your dial up number. If this were to happen, Open
Dial up Networking, Right Click on the Bluebonnet Icon
and Left click on Properties. Change the number back to
your local Bluebonnet number (make sure all of the number is under the
phone number, leave the area code box blank). To make sure
there are no viruses in your computer, run a full virus scan
on your computer. You can use one of the free scans on our Virus Alert page
9.
Why is my dial up box coming on, I am not using the Internet
or Email?
Your anti-virus program may be trying to connect for new updates.
Open your anti-virus program and do a live up date. This will
keep you current. You computer may also be set for any new
Window updates to be down loaded, this also needs to be kept
current on any of the Critical Updates.
10.
I have two computers. I checked my email yesterday at one computer, and
now when I check mail on the other computer my email is gone?
When you use the Outlook or Outlook express Program, it downloads
your mail off the server and stores it on your hard drive.
After you download these messages, they get stored in your
computer's hard drive so you will no be able to view them
when you access your mail throught our Web Mail located on
the Bluebonnet's website or from a differrent computer.
11.
How do I clear the History?
If you are logged on to the Internet, click on Tools, then click
Internet Options. When Internet Options opens you will be on the
General Tab. On the lower half of the page you will see Clear History.
Click the button and wait until your cursor stops spinning. You have
cleaned the History folder. Click Apply, then click OK.
12.
There are things that I see on my computer that I didn't download,
what are they?
This is most likely Spyware. Spyware can be harmful to your
computer, or might just be unwanted programs that snuck onto
your computer. To get rid of them go to http://www.download.com
and search for "Ad-Aware" without the quotations.
Installing and running this program should clean your computer
of these unwanted programs.

Why does my accelerator flash Blue and Red?
The accelerator is supposed to flash Blue and Red. This shows
that it is active and working.

there is no dial tone. Make sure the phone line is connected
to the modem and not the network card. Make sure that the
phone line is connected correctly and not loose. Make sure
that the modem drivers are installed correctly. You may have
to reinstall the modem or replace the modem (you may have
to take it to a computer tech of you choice or you can bring
it to the Bluebonnet Tech Repair Center).
15.
Why is my connection speed so slow?
There could be several reasons to this problem. The following
are some that you may want to trouble shoot.

modem may be an older modem and can not send and receive
as fast.
